Sunday Recap – 11/08/09
This past Sunday, we discussed John 7:25-36 (link), and looked at 3 Outrageous Truths that Jesus proclaims here in the text. These truths are 1) You do not know God, 2) I know God, for I am from Him, and 3) He has sent me here. Huge truths! The setlist is here:
- All My Tears (Julie Miller)- This was a great call-to-worship song that we jammed to before announcements. The band really got into it, the whole church was clapping, and we all enjoyed singing about our great hope in Christ post-death.
- Beautiful Jesus (Kristian Stanfill) – This song really magnifies the brilliance of Christ. As our key verse for the day was Hebrews 1:3, it hit home the fact that the radiance of God is found in the face of Jesus.
- He is Exalted (Twila Paris) – This is an older song that has a timeless meaning: the reason we gather is to corporately extol and praise the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
- Lift Up thy Bleeding Hand, o Lord (Andrew Osenga of Indelible Grace) – This lyrically heavy song was our communion song, and was meant to lead us to lean on Christ for all of our needs, both spiritual and emotional. His blood is all we need in our lives for our own well-being.
Another beautiful morning in worship to Christ!
