So this morning’s prayer was all about getting productive and reading God’s word and definitely thanking God for allowing me to live one more day… Lately I feel as though I need to live my life knowing that sooner or later I will no longer exist in this world, yea pretty much I feel that I may not live to see 30, 50 or 60 years or God knows how long, but bottom line is that this feeling has just really been hitting me hard and as a result I have come to understand even more that life is not all about the Benjamens or school accomplishments (not that any of these are bad) but personally I feel that I am to live everyday as if they may be my last…
I want to live for a cause…
Really I did not mean to write about this but there is nothing wrong with freestyling and expressing whats in a brothers heart…Other then that I am enjoying reading about Christ in the book of Mark and how people PRAISED GOD! as they witnessed His power through the healing of the paralytic. This is just another teaching on how musicians are not always necessary to make a loud noise of praise to God. Many times we (musicians) have failed in thinking that w/out us people will not praise God, but the Bible proves us wrong, it is Jesus’s presence in a gathering (or whatever the setting may be) that makes praise rise to Him.
So what is a mucisian to do when he is bored or chilling with his girlfriend’s family for quite a number of days? find the closest musician store and jam with the coolest instruments that store may have. And yes that is what I did this last week and so I searched for a Guitar Center and found one here in Charlotte and went there to release some stress and yes it worked….I got to jam with a Motif XS8 and found some really cool beats that I urge any musician to jam to, they are called “Ind Jam and Bluesy Moody” really great beats specially the Ind Jam. I personally like blues and got to really do some cool stuff with the Bluesy Moody settings……….so, enjoy and next post I hope to share with ya some AMAZING guitar system by Roland called “VG-99 guitar system” (really cool stuff)
What up!… So I finally got back home (Durham) on Tuesday evening and ever since I’ve gotten a chance to hang out with friends, relatives and ran some arons and now its about 1:50sh am as I type this post and all I can think about is the fact that in some 12 hours I will be holding my beautiful girlfriend in my arms, something that her and I have been awaiting for anxiously. Its been about 5 months since we do not see each other and as everyone out there that knows her or myself is aware: all we talk about is one another, but thank God He’s gift to us this Christmas is not only Jesus but each other. As far as what does my “novia” (girlfriend) do? well I am glad you ask, she is a missionary in Dublin reaching out to international students sharing the love of Jesus. So I, like many others, are really proud of her dedication and sacrifice as she lives in a foreign country where everything is almost twice expensive (them euro’s son) ….But anyways next post I hope to talk about my favorite beats on the Motif XS8 (the “must use” for any musician)…
Wow so we had our last echo group meeting of the year 07′tonight and as I began to think back I become amazed at what God has been doing with Harmony church….I mean here we are 4 young leaders planting a church in a party school area (ECU), really you got to have some serious guts to do this, right? But the reality behind this journey is that our greatest inspiration has to be credited to the desire that Jesus has installed in our hearts through His Holy Spirit and His life, death and resurrection, we knowledge that Jesus died for this world and His desire is that we may come to know Him and experience a relationship (not a religionship) with the Him (the owner of the universe)….Secondly, I have to credit this advancement to the vision of the church which has been and continues to be well implanted on every member’s heart and it is what continues to bring more people to our meetings…We had about six or seven in our echo groups and in three months those numbers have doubled and yes now the next phase is set to continue in a very odd and unexpected environment where the average person would never expect to hear about Jesus : in a bar…..
O.K so we read it all the time and many people in Greenville are beginning to say it (”YA TU SABE”) But finally I am going to make an attempt in letting you guys know what it means so pay attention….let me give you an example of a scene where I might bust out saying it…alright so lets say we are watching the Cowboys game from last week and we see that the Cowboys are down 21-27 with less then a minute to go and all the haters are pretty much saying “its over” but the cowboys fans remember that early in the season they were also down and BOOOM! they came back and defeated the Buffalo Bills 25-24, so these fans have their hopes up and are expecting that their boys will win the game and as you know they did, so what would I say when looking at the final score 28-27 ? hhhhhmmmmm “YA TU SABE” meaning “Daaaag”……So there now you know the meaning …..now whats the next Spanish slang term? “BARBARO” …..which means? …that would have to be another post…till then “love, live, echo”
Yes sir! semester is done for Pablo w/the exception of a paper that I need to edit and turn in by Friday. Paper is about an author named Octavio Paz who won a noble prize back in 1990, on a book titled The Labyrinth of solitude , an interesting book trying to define Mexican identity, which I personally think cannot be clearly defined being that it is too broad and has various international influences…..but now I am about to head to Raleigh to get a transcript and yes then I have to drive back to Greenville so I have a very long day and evening, but am looking forward to meeting with leadership team and talk about what model of Martin guitar we should get for this coming year (YA TU SABE!….I wish)
So semester is only 3 days from being over, (ya tu sabe!!), so for me school finishes on Thursday. That is a great feeling! because this semester has been quite a challenge being that it was the first entire semester where I could not hold my “bella” (beautiful) girlfriend Jessica. This being that she is doing some missionary service in Ireland and left the states a week or two before school began this semester, BUT she will be returning for Christmas break and will be here till Jan. 12….So what date is Pablo looking forward to this year? December 21 baby!!….and as far as how December is looking for me, um that is another post I shall make later……and yes I plan on finally revealing the true meaning of the famous phrase “YA TU SABE” which many of us cannot seem to stop saying…
What up everybody, I know I’ve been horrible at blogging but I AM HERE, so just want to thank everyone that has partaken in Harmony this 2nd half of the year, its been HUGE!, God has really blessed us with everyone’s presence….and YES WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ‘08 ….and just wondering what in the world God has in store for us, I personally hope He has a nice guitar in store for me to use next year (like a Martin, or a Motif keyboard, I mean is that too much to ask?)…..alright Greenville don’t forget WE ARE COMING AT YOU BABY!!
So what a night!!, tonight I got a chance to hang out with some friends from school and we just had such a great time learning how to dance salsa, and some other Latin music styles, I really had a good time and even though I am Hispanic yet I’ve lost much of my rhythm but I think I got some of it back tonight….I am just proud of my culture and the fact that I got to show today that being Christian is not about living a boring lifestyle with a list of rules of what you can and cant do but its about living it loud….before leaving to the party I got to read with my girl friend Jessica a scripture on Romans 5:1 that says that “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”, I mean this is great news! we are not slaves to sin we are now free, and that makes life so much fun!…..in spanish we would say “gozate” which means enjoy your self, and that is what I did tonight, I also got to meet my friend’s Heidi’s husband who’s name I forgot but he was a really cool guy and I hope to hang out with this family again in the coming future……….Donald yOu misSed out HomEs
