Harmony, I miss you and I am excited to be back with you this weekend. I have not ministered/served you with music for Jesus for about a month. This continues to be a wild ride but in the long run it’ll be all worth it. I appreciate the fact that you understand/teach me that family(marriage) comes before church. Because that is the ride I am currently on. Now lets hope my vocal chords are going to be ready for this Sunday. Don’t forget to check out www.Jessicaandpablo.com
Been gone for so long
Psalm 63:3
Here is another reason why at Harmony there is great delight in singing songs directed to our King Jesus.Psalm 66:3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. As His love is revealed to our lives, through attending Sunday gatherings or personally spending time with Him in the Bible, we come to understand that there is NO ONE like Jesus. He is just too perfect, He is the definition of a true and real hero or better yet God and Authority. He is a role model worth following. He is the King who deserves the best of our vocal chords. And this belief is proven at the Cross and His resurrection from death, which signifies God’s “steadfast love.” His death for our filthy/helpless lives. His resurrection for our hope/joy and restoration.
This morning we had worship/music practice as usual and were able to meditate on some scripture. Brad and I read Romans 8 and as we summarized the content of scripture we took some time and reflected on how the scripture related to our lives and current events. As a result, we concluded on the following two points:
- As both Brad and I look forward to marrying our beautiful fiancés in the coming three months, we pray to be loving/merciful/forgiven as Christ has been to us sinners. As shown in verses 31-38 in/through Christ we are encouraged that our upcoming marriage covenants can persevere and flourish; and even through there will be severe storms ahead because nothing can “separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus” we eagerly await the future and how it will assist us to be more like Cristo.
- Prayer does not always involve speaking on our behalf. As shown in verses 26-27 it is Christ’s Spirit in us that speaks on our behalf. As a result, we must listen and listen carefully. Therefore do not get caught up on methods and trying to be too humanly reverent/ don’t try to impress God with words or amount of time speaking with Him. Note that THERE IS ONLY ONE ELEMENT THAT MAKES YOUR PRAYERS HEARD and that’s Jesus. That’s why being a Christ follower is the hottest thing, we are free and not tied to laws and traditions. We can now call God “daddy” that’s how close we are. NO MORE RELIGION, NO MORE LAWS.
I cannot emphasize how importante it is to have a balance in your worship team practice. Music team practice is not all about music but also about understanding why we respond to God in music. To understand our musical response we must meditate on the Bible and encourage/challenge one another the message it promotes.
Sundays @ Harmony
What a great meeting we had this past Sunday. My life continues to be encouraged by every detail displayed/presented at Harmony.
- The crowd. It is always cool to see so many new faces interacting as a family while seeking after Jesus and the freedom He offers.
- The time we have to sing songs to Jesus together. In this segment we communicate with our Maker through melodies by using a guitar, voices and drums. All together combined we respond in gratitude and amazement to our Father for His Son Jesus.
- The message. This part is when our lives and struggles are addressed. And when hope through what the Bible teaches us is unveiled, that is that JESUS is Lord over all. Yes, over all and that would include: death, finances, school, sickness, loneliness, sin and so on and so on
All these three items combined make every Sunday worthwhile.
February at Harmony
WOw Long time since I blogged. But I am here and am pumped about 3 events coming up this month. 1. Seeing my future wife on Valentines day. 2. Harmony and The Frank Story. 3.Worship music.
Family is BIG for me and therefore I am pumped about a hard core marriage and family series. Though the points that will be addressed are not necessarily specifically about being a good husband/mother/son/daughter. Because when we speak of husbands we are also speaking about men in general and what it takes to live a Christ-center marriage where love, mercy and perseverance dominates. Because remember being a Christian does not mean your marriage is perfect but it does mean that it is suppose to stand out and draw others to Christ. The revelation of his freedom? we did not deserve, yet it was given to us and now we have no excuse.
And in response to his love we earnestly seek to find/apply the resources given to us and be able to exhibit Christ abidance in our families/lives through his Spirit and the church. So invite others to come and listen the great news that Christ has come to heal and restore what was broken.
Holidays
The holidays have been well. Jes and I decided to spend Christmas with our families. After Christmas I drove to Gastonia, where I have been hanging around eversince attempting to do some wedding planning. So far what have I accomplished? Not much, other than working on our engagement website . Hopefully it’ll be done soon and once complete ya shall know. Other then that? I am excited to see what Christ has for Jes and I. We are both ready to experience serving Him together in whatever are or field His will has destined for us. On
Where is Pablo?
Was good?…I can’t remember when was my last post but regardless, I am here. Numerous events have occurred/ing which have kept me busy. First, I proposed to my beautiful girlfriend and “she said yes.” Next, my beautiful grand mother flewed in from Guatemala. I had not seen her in over a year and she’s here for the holidays. The cool thing about her arrival was that she got to see her first great grand child. Which leads my to my next event, my youngest brother’s wife gave birth to a beautiful child named “Maya.” Ya, she’ll be the center of attention for a while and maybe even spoiled. …but ya I hope to get back in the groove soon and post some play sets and devotionals.

The economy
Check it, let’s be realistic: We are only seeing the beginning of this corrupted economy.
- Last week 516,000 applied for unemployment (CNN).
- “This is just the beginning, huge layoffs are coming” Mayor Daley.
- Germany is in recession (they are the biggest economy in Europe).
- 2,700 homes are being taking away from homeowners everyday (CNN).
- The number of unemployed people increased by 6,03,000 to 10.1 million in October.
I am not trying to be negative here, but I just want to remind you that we must get back to the basics of Christianity. In Psalm 37:16-17 we find that:
16 Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
17 for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the LORD upholds the righteous.
But, what is the “little”? I think that in this topic I would apply it to none other than Christ himself. Born in a manger, mistreated, cursed, abandoned by his own and Father for our sins. Modern day death penalty does not even come close to his death. He was treated as a “simple” man with little worth. But yet His resurrection proves his dominion overall (including death itself). And I think His message of repentance and love is of greater worth then whatsoever we can find or be anxious of in this world. And this worth is what is known as “faith”, a gift that is not of our own but given by Christ. And this faith is what strengthens us to walk through these rough world economic times. Furthermore, it proves true what the Bible says about the material/flesh-like aspects that we produce in this world: though they are necessary and at times enjoyable for a while, they will all vanish. But Christ will NEVER vanish and nor will His followers.
