The Church is not meant to be a country club, or a walled-in bomb shelter for Christians awaiting the return of Jesus. Instead, we are sent into a world in which we are exiled; a world that is hostile to the demands and commands of Christ. We are sent into the world not to be of it, but rather to bring people into the Kingdom of Heaven. But what does this look like practically? Can your grill and a pack of bratwursts really be used to share the Gospel?

Taproot is our men’s development group that starts up in March. We will be going through a couple of awesome writings: the Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC) and Jonathan Edwards’ 70 Resolutions. Don’t be afraid or intimidated. The WSC is question and answer format, and should provide for some awesome discussion. The Resolutions of Jonathan Edwards are partly based off of the WSC, and apply all the “God” study to our everyday life; namely, what does it look like for us as men to live to our chief end: “the glory of God”. Should be fun.

In the Taproot Reader are a couple of ‘extra’ readings for your own leisure. They aren’t too difficult, and should provide a springboard into some serious reading for the soul. Have fun.
