Over the course of ten weeks, we will take a look at the crumbling city of Jerusalem: why the city died, how it died, and what could have been done to prevent it. As we read through the 5 heartbreaking poems of Lamentations, we ask what we can learn for our own beloved city. How can we apply the lessons of Lamentations to our own backyard? Reading this funeral for a city is haunting, but it also brings hope that our city can be renewed through the Gospel of Jesus.

serve.Greenville is a community initiative that seeks to provide support structures for other community organizations that may not have the time, talent, or personnel to provide for themselves. This includes, but is not limited to, a volunteer force, marketing campaigns, a social media presence, and access to micro-grants. We do this that the people, neighborhoods, and cultures of Greenville may be renewed and revived.
The Church is not meant to be a country club, or a walled-in bomb shelter for Christians awaiting the return of Jesus. Instead, we are sent into a world in which we are exiled; a world that is hostile to the demands and commands of Christ. We are sent into the world not to be of it, but rather to bring people into the Kingdom of Heaven. But what does this look like practically? Can your grill and a pack of bratwursts really be used to share the Gospel? Ketchup, coffee, tea parties and more should be expected during this 4-week series on how to live Sent.
